A temporary solution, could be implemented in little time by a compiz
dev:

- Show the icons in their original size. It would look much better, then
an ugly upscaled one.

[Bug 298884] [NEW] 5.1 doesn't work by default with PulseAudio and Audigy2

Restarted pulse daemon, then relogged in GNOME. Now everything works as

[Bug 279002] [NEW] Resize Window effect in compiz should be set to 'Outline' by default

2008-10-06 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz-gnome

Resize Window effect in compiz should be set to 'Outline' by default instead of
'Rectangle', because rectangle has a default fill color set to light-blue, and
its not affected by any GNOME theme change.
So it looks weird on Ubuntu theme, and new Dark ubuntu theme (light, and dark
brownish colors, no blue).
'Outline' mode only draws a dark outline of the window, which is suitable for
every GNOME theme.

I'ts funny, but now with GTK+ 2.12, the toolkit is faster in windows

[Bug 202821] Re: [hardy] automount method changed

2008-04-13 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
The problem is, that ubuntu uses UUID-s in the fstab, which is much more
complicated to deal with by hand. GNOME deals nice with HAL, so it
detects all my windows and other partitions easily. Other distros switch
this feature auto ON, Ubuntu should do so, and disable the fstab editing
in the installer too. I understand that the fstab way is necessary in
xubuntu and fluxbuntu, but not in kubuntu and ubuntu.

[Bug 209349] [NEW] Compiz desktop wall plugin moving window weird behaviour

2008-03-30 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Try this: Move a windows constantly at the side of the workspaces (so
e.g. from workspace 1 on left to workspace 2 on right) and dont stop,
move the window further. I't important to move the window while the
"scrolling effect" of the desktop-wall is playing.

The window will in workspace 1, but "you" and your mouse (witch is still
"grabbing" the window) will stay at the last workspace (mouse exits on
the right, then comes back again in the left, on the same workspace).

Now you're still grabbing the window, but the distance between the mouse
and the window is 1 or more workspaces...so you drop the window, and
manually search for it in other workspaces, where could it be. If you
have multiple workspaces, then this is what you wouldn't like to.

I'm using a daily updated Hardy, with nvdia-glx-new on an nVIDIA Geforce
7600GS, and a 1680x1050 TFT.

[Bug 208879] [NEW] Weird missbehave when trying to rename an .avi while DVD creatin in brasero

2008-03-29 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

I've inserted a blank DVD, then started to create a data DVD with brasero.
Copied a few .avi to the disk, then tried to rename one. When right-clicking on
an .avi a black widow comes up (intended to be a movie preview?!) but nothing
happens, when clicking on 'rename', the black window relaunches itself, and I'm
unable to rename the file because it steels the focus.
Renaming with a second single click when a file selected works though.

[Bug 202821] [NEW] [hardy] automount method changed

2008-03-16 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
Public bug reported:

Previous Hardy alphas used the GNOME automount method, which is much more
comfortable then using /etc/fstab.
Now GNOME doesn't automount the detected windows drives, so I have to do it
manually in the Nautilus's Computer section. So without this, my symlinks to
the windows partitions doesn't work, my bookmarks doesn't appear, etc.
Switch back to the "old" behaviour would be more confortable for the new linux

Updated to 2.6.24-12-generic...still doesn't work.
Any chaces that Hardy final will suspend correctly on my machine? (on Archlinux
it works seamlessly, so it is possible)
I'd be glad to help you with this bug, even testing patches.

[Bug 200751] [NEW] [hardy]on Xorg init failure (when sailsafe X launches), continuing without reconfiguration results in a semi-usable system

2008-03-10 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
Public bug reported:

After a hald-updated kernel (forgot to install the new linux-restricted-
modules) my system launched the failsafe Xorg after i didn't want to
reconfigure X, else clicked on "Continue...".

GNOME was unusable that small size, i wanted to click the system menus, and the
launchers hidden under the menu was started instead, the menu was unaccessible.
My 'hu' keyboard layout wasn't set, so i't was hard to tweak in the terminal to
solve the problem.
So that "Continue..." option in the Failsafe Xorg is a bit unusable.

[Bug 199314] Re: Hardy: SCIM support is easily triggered making system unusable

2008-03-09 Thread nyékhelyi gábor
I can confirm this bug.
This SCIM shit should be disabled by default. It's confusing for the user
because of the multiple places for setting keyboard layouts.
And this gtk scim client doesn't fit in the GNOME/Ubuntu ideology, not a
simple, not a transparent application, confusing for the user.
And I can't quit from the program, because it restarts itself (by the time amsn
freezes because of this).

[Bug 191841] [NEW] [hardy] simple-ccsm (un)usability

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: simple-ccsm

* While i can choose the way i like the switcher effect in simple-ccsm,
the user isn't noticed about the changed hotkeys. So the default
'Application Switcher' mode uses ALT+TAB, when he/she switches to an
other, ALT+TAB does nothing anymore (and he/she won't know the right
hotkey.

* The same applies for the Desktop/Appearance section.

* In the 'Zoom' tab, the hotkeys are selectable, the same should be done
for the 'Dekstop' and the 'Animations' tab.

* Enable Blur in 'Effects' tab doesn't seem to do anything
