Sorry to take so long to reply. I tried upgrading to 8.04, but that did not change the problem. I decided to do a clean install. When I installed Ubuntu 8.04 with clean install I have not had the issue reoccur. Thank you for your time and efforts. [Bug 271543] Re: computer hard freeze
I have also had freezing of the system lately. The only way out is to turn the computer off and start over. I am using Hardy and have been updating the system immediately there are new updates. The freezing does not seem to be related to any particular process or program as I have had it freeze while using Thunderbird, browsing the net with Firefox, using Amsn, viewing files on the hard drive,and playing Aisle riot to name some. Nothing has changed. My computer used to change back and forth in feisty but as soon as I upgraded to gutsy this has happened. Is there any way that I can roll back to feisty and reapply gutsy, as there may have been some setting that I didn't do correctly. It opens in full screen mode, plays ok in it but : It still will not go out of full screen mode no matter what I do. [Bug 157941] Full screen mode in AisleRiot will not return to normal mode
Public bug reported: when I go to full screen in aisleriot I cannot use F11 or Leave fullscreen button to return to normal mode. It flicks back to normal then returns to full screen. I have upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy during the past week.
