/usr/sbin/915resolution 58 1280 800 32
to the file /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh and reboot.
It works with Edgy Eft.

it a few times, last attempt was in safe graphic mode

I downloaded and unpacked the ALSA driver 1.0.13rc1:
ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver-1.0.13rc1.tar.bz2
then compiled and installed it:
./configure --with-cards=hda-intel
make
sudo make install
and after reboot I have sound in Edgy Eft!
