[Bug 1173138] [NEW] QT 4.8.4 bug: Arabic-indic numerals instead of Arabic numerals in Slovak localization

2013-04-26 Thread phjr
Public bug reported:

Release used: Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit
Version of package used: 4:4.8.4+dfsg-0ubuntu9
What I expect to happen: display "standard" arabic numerals in QT applications
What happens instead: arabic-indic numerals are displayed in QT applications

This bug is known upstream and is fixed in 4.8.5, I hope the fix could
be backported to Ubuntu 13.04.

[Bug 760744] [NEW] NFS mount hangs ls and nautilus

2011-04-14 Thread phjr
Public bug reported:

I have a NFS server on the network (Ubuntu Server 10.10 64bit) which
exports several directories. I have these mounted on my 11.04 desktop
(also 64bit). When I open these folders in nautilus, the window opens
but then freezes. I never let it run longer than 10-20 seconds. When I
open a terminal, chdir into the directory and run "ls", there's no
output and I can't stop ls using Ctrl-C. It starts growing in size
(several gigabytes of memory used, monitored by top), then the system
starts swapping and I have to kill the process with "kill -9".

It does not happen always, but I have not found a key to trigger or un-
trigger this behaviour.

This started happening after I upgraded the desktop from 10.10 to 11.04
beta.

This is how it is mounted on the desktop:
homesvr:/data/media on /data/media type nfs
(rw,hard,intr,vers=4,addr=10.31.41.2,clientaddr=10.31.41.24)

And this is the export on the 10.10 server:
/data/media nexus(rw,no_subtree_check)

[Bug 637848] [NEW] avahi-daemon should be restarted automatically after suspend/resume cycle

2010-09-14 Thread phjr
Public bug reported:

After suspend/resume, avahi-browse -at only shows local resources. After
restarting avahi-daemon, I can again see remote services too. It should
be either automatically restarted by some script, or it should somehow
find out alone that a lot of time has passed and it should rediscover
the services.

The machine was suspended over night, i.e. ~10 hours.

[Bug 546409] Re: fade-out takes too long (~15sec) and blocks the UI

2010-03-25 Thread phjr
What do you suggest then? I'm not sure if it's only my problem, or of
everyone with NVIDIA binary driver. If only mine, any suggestion to fix
this? If not only mine, this should somehow be fixed. I think that there
is currently no full-featured open-source driver for nvidia cards, so
disabling it is not really an option. Perhaps having a straightforward
way to disable the fade-out might be a usable workaround.

[Bug 283305] Re: [RV670 HD 3850] does not allow interlaced mode 1920x1080, instead offers 1920x540

2009-02-22 Thread phjr
Unfortunately I can not reproduce this anymore, since I changed my
livingroom TV. With this one I have another problem - only allows
1280x720 (or something like that), although this is a Full-HD TV
(Samsung LE46A656). Anyway, that's probably another bug. That is with
9.04. Before upgrading I also tried with 8.10, with similar result - I
only saw modes up to 1366x(something), but 1920x1080 was not there.
