To try to fix that regresion, I tryed the proposed solution:
http://thecodecentral.com/2011/01/18/fix-ubuntu-10-10-suspendhibernate-not-working-bug
But to no avail on my Dell Inspiron N5010 Ubuntu 12.04 (while suspend worked
fine on 11.10).

Weird feature whose interest I do not understand, as well as all the
others who also got stuck with that. To solve the issue, I reinstalled.
Thanx for your time.

setting up auto login, then no more root
Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 11.10.
I used system settings/user account to set up auto login. It worked fine,
untill I had to install a new package: when asked for the root password, it was
said as not valid (note that the auto login is for my session, which is also
administrator).

I finally tried a reboot, and it did its magic: no more problem. But the
tomboy bug was real, nevertheless.

Hi,
http://packages.debian.org/sid/all/bibus/download
allows for Bibus installation on Ubuntu 11.10.
But a new problem then arises: there is no way to select different styles: you
get stuck with the one by default, which of courses renders Bibus useless. Any
idea how to fix that one?

Can I suggest a weird test?
Open Rythmbox Music Player directly (do NOT play anything with it).
Minimize it if you want.
Open a file (mp3 or avi or whatever) that you want to play with VLC.
In my case, then VLC works again. What about you?
Don't ask me why!

Hi,
thanks for the follow up.
That bug was on a computer now used by one of my kids, who reinstalled
XP for her WOW game... However, on my other machines (including this
one), I never met that problem.
So I am a happy U(buntu)ser :)
