Same problem: Dell XPS1330, after upgrading to Ibex, sounded like trying to take off the desk using its fan. BIOS is A10. I simply went back to the nvidia 173 driver, and peace came back after rebooting. -- Latest nvidia driver for Interpid (x64) makes my fan spin all the time.
