An additional monitor appears inside gnome-control-center Displays.

[Bug 854140] Re: xsession fails on login due to video driver kubuntu 11.10

I tried to download the driver from the AMD website and when it is
installed it still causes a failed login.

I believe what caused this issue is I added the ATI/AMD proprietary
FGLRX graphics driver in Additional Drivers application and then
removed it.  I don't think it removed it properly.

I can now log into kubuntu because I reinstalled fglrx with apt-get
install fglrx

but when I got into Additional Drivers it doesn't show it as active.
So there is still an issue with the Additional Drivers application
managing drivers

I connected empathy by using my google voice account by using the gizmo5
number.  I followed the instructions from this site and I was able to
make one call.  But after that I wasn't able to make any calls.  There
wasn't any notification that a call was coming in or that there was an
error.

I'm also running Jaunty Beta 1 on a Dell inspiron and it also beeps
every time I turn my laptop off.  IT also beeps when I'm using gvim.  It
really takes from the experience of using ubuntu and is something that
definitely needs to be fixed before the official release
