[Bug 93847] Re: Excessive CPU usage by Gnome System Monitor
One more voice to sing the song :-p I have a p4 with 2.6 Ghz and2 times 500 of ram runing in paralelle Yet I have noticed this problem seems to be related to the graphics in ubuntu rather than to the cpu monitor its self As i get the same kind of processor abuse with any and all graphical use, for example movies that I can watch in windows 2000 ( full screen) with high yet acceptable cpu usage (60->80%) in ubuntu even in small aplets ittakes 100% of my cpu and even often leaves me with several seconds of delay for any other programes I might use ; and in full screen the picture and sound will desync and inter reaction with any programes becomes a time warp game -- Excessive CPU usage by Gnome System Monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/93847 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 83043] my keyboard is missing caracters
Public bug reported: HI, I am in the process of transfering from windows and have a wierless microsoft multimidia keyboard, I tried changing the keyboard settings but nothing helps, I tried setting up the onscreen keyboard but it wont work (my mouse pointer just goes to the center of the screen each time so my easy solution is useless), I tried connecting the keyboard to the normal keyboard conector rather than the USB but when I do the only time I can use my keyboard is at the login (passw and name) it wont work when I get the choice between windows and ubuntu and most of all it wont work once inside ubuntu after login in (the mouse doesnt work at all in any of these cases) I tried when I first sent up Ubuntu to fix this problem by reinstalling the hole thing but no good! One of the missing caracters being the at sign means I cant even wright emails, I was finaly able to find a site on the net from wich I could cut and paste it and finally be able to send this report :-) ((also how do I find software conflicts?)) every time I start up ubuntu and when I modifie keyboard layout I get the following message: Error activating XKB configuration. It can happen under various circumstances: - a bug in libxklavier library - a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities) - X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation X server version data: The X.Org Foundation 7000 If you report this situation as a bug, please include: - The result of xprop -root | grep XKB - The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd RESULTS: xprop -root | grep XKB: _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xorg", "pc104", "belgian", "", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xorg", "pc104", "belgian", "", "" gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd: layouts = [] model = microsoftmult overrideSettings = true options = [] Thank you for your help and patience. sails. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- my keyboard is missing caracters https://launchpad.net/bugs/83043 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
