1. As I wrote at the beginning, this bug is not reproducible. It happens
when I'm browsing, but also when I'm not: If I keep my laptop on all the
night with my browser opened, usaually when I came back in the morning
Firefox doesn't be running anymore...

Tell me what log or other file I have to attach.
I've encountered this problem also today, with the last Firefox 3.5 build
20090701012740.
When Firefox crash in that way the OS doesn't regognize it as a crash and
doesn't start Report problem... as usual.
If I try to run Report a problem... manually it doesn't start.

[Bug 95939] Re: gnome-network-preferences don't set $https_proxy, $ftp_proxy

2009-03-17 Thread scaltro
I have the same terrible bug on my last patched gutsy.
When I unset global proxy through gnome-network-preferences, the http_proxy
ftp_proxy https_proxy variable has the same previous assigned values. Perhaps
the apps says that they are unassigned.
And so I have to force the cleaning of these values with
sudo export $http_proxy=
sudo export $ftp_proxy=
sudo export $https_proxy=

With gnome-network-preferences I can assign new proxy settings, but I
cannot unset it.

gnome-network-preferences is part of gnome-control-center package... Why it
should be declared invalid?
I think that the correct project to assign it is gnome-control-center.
I don't understand the low priority assigned.
This bug born in the 2007, Now on my last patched INTREPID 8.10, I got the same
problem too.
In my first post I do a mistake when I wrote that my version of ubuntu was
gutsy, instead it is the last intrepid one.

[Bug 308191] [NEW] Multi fingers touch doesn't be correctly recognized

2008-12-15 Thread scaltro
Public bug reported:

I've tried to enable the multi-touch feature on my Samsung NC10 touchpad
enabled (Synaptics) but I did't find a way for correctly do it working.
I've started from this how-to
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-touchpad/?ca=dgr-lnxw02os-touchpadS_TACT=105AGX59S_CMP=GRsitel

I've tried to run this:
synclient -m 100

but it seems that recognize only a single finger.

This touchpad has multi-touch feature since i correctly make it running
under windows xp, but I like to be able to use it under Linux too.

I'm running last updated Intrepid Ubuntu.

[Bug 82709] after gnome login i get only a grey box in the top left corner of the screen

2007-02-01 Thread scaltro
Public bug reported:

When I try to log in into Gnome. After the log in screen disappeared,
the only thing I got was a light brown screen for a while then a grey
box in the top left corner of the screen. And then, nothing else, it
just froze there forever. I had to kill it with CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE.

After looking on the web, I found a potential solution on a forum which was to
delete .gconf* and .gnome* . Didn't work. The XOrg.0.log was not very
informative either as all the errors I got were not fatal. The .xsession-errors
was even less informative; the messages it contained were not errors at all.
I have also tried to duplicate the commands in /usr/share/gnome/default.session
but it doesn't work, infact if I create a new user and i try to log-in with
gnome i have the same problem.

If I try to log-in with XFCE it loads the desktop icons but it can't
load panel.

I can only log in with KDE, but i don't like it very much...
But I can't load many gnome application with it.

If i tried to set
dpkg-reconfigure debconf
to use Gnome frontend it says that it can't initialize it and so load Dialog
frontend.
I don't know if this is correlated with the first problem.
