For a substantial amount of users Wayland is important as it has better
performance and battery for integrated graphics. Having this bug unfixed
and breaking graphical snaps including chromium (which does not have an
apt package alternative) forces users to revert to X11/Xorg.

What is the mechanism to increase the importance of this bug and
expedite the release of the fix which has been available (unreleased)
for almost a month. This was a known issue on release day of Groovy. How
can I help?

After the kernel update, Ethernet is not working on  Lenovo Thinkpad
T430. Looping on Unplugged/connecting as if cable fault. Tested cables
and switch. Reverting back to Kernel 4.13.0-37-generic solves the
problem completely.

Steps to recreate:
Symptom 1:
Use file open dialog: all non English (latin, ascii) (e.g. Arabic) filenames 
appear empty with file size 0 bytes

Symptom 2:
Doubleclick any non English (latin, ascii) (e.g. Arabic) libreoffice associated 
(.odt, .ods, ...) file, the correct libreoffice application will open then you 
will receive a file not found error with garbled file name in the error message.
