This seems to be an apport problem because I just reported that crash

i tried the 2.0 which is on your site. The driver does not change
remains at static 1152*768. Any attempt to change it either via the System
Preferences Screen Resolution applet or by using xrandr to change it to
something like 1024*768 @ 75 hz the session ends unexpectedly
self-rejecting it as an update to the update-manager resolved the
situation.

Hi all,
I am self-rejecting it, the VGA mode in my BIOS was of 1 MB , which in
Windows is enough for the usplash there but apparently not in Ubuntu. Putting
it to 8 MB resolved the usplash issue. Sorry for taking your time thanx for
your guidance.

The usplash does not work at 1 MB. The VRAM needs to be something
around 8 MB for it to work. I had been having the issue for last several years

I also tried vga=791 but get the same thing. Do not know what to choose
hence using space, hence most probably it goes to defaults, and hence

Ok couple of comments, for me 0.52 does not work for me. Although I think I

- I am using Gnome. After todays updates, I cannot get the window
decorations to work. The only way I can do so is by going to virtual terminal
(ALT+F1) or (CTRL+ALT+F1) and typing there DISPLAY=:0 metacity
