I have the same problem. I use the Netbook versions of 10.10 on a MSi
Wind U-100 with a normal hard disk. I now added the gnome-settings-
daemon to the start up applications to see whether this helps.

I added some files to the Ubuntu One folder again. A loose .jpg file and
a folder containing some text documents. These were loaded without any
problem. So maybe it was a temporary thing?

I can confirm that Wallner's hack works. Installed the .deb-package on a
MSi Wind U100 and the flickering problem at start up has dissapeared and
I can adjust brightness levels normaly.

I followed your steps. I have put the lines in the file. Does it matter where
there are in the file?
I also added a folder to the Ubuntu One folder. Doesn't show up in the online
storage.

I did not use a different account. I made an account when I installed
Karmic Koala and got Ubuntu One. I never used it because I never took
the time to see what Ubuntu One actually was untill recently. I thought
it might be usefull to have some online storage space so I used the
Public bug reported:

while that the folders online are updated. Furthermore Ubuntu One only

You can use the USB ports if you disable the camera during boot by pressing Fn
F6.
This will allow you to use the USB ports. This has worked for me in around 85%
of the boots.

I will check my list sources.list asap to see whether updating can make a
difference. If none of that works for me or others, hopefully Stephan's

The webcam is functioning now. After my previous post I discovered that I
didn't check the bottom box in the update manager enabling karmic-backports. I
