[Bug 1844926] Re: Kernel panic when booting Razer Blade 15" 2018

2019-09-26 Thread sztomi
I'm willing to try, but I honestly don't really know how to do that
safely and in an orderly fashion. Is there a written guide I can use?
Which versions should be tested? On the first look I don't see more
versions in eoan. Am I supposed to compile them myself?

[Bug 1844926] [NEW] Kernel panic when booting Razer Blade 15" 2018

2019-09-22 Thread sztomi
Public bug reported:

A few days ago I decided to test the upcoming 19.10 release. After
rebooting, I faced a very early kernel panic. The whole disk is
encrypted and I couldn't even reach the decryption phase where it asks
for the password.

The kernel package is `linux-image-generic/eoan,now 5.3.0.10.11`

I am currently running 5.0.0-29-generic without problems. I don't have
any versions installed in-between those two.

Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot I collected photos
of the kernel booting. There is a little bit scrolled out, but it
scrolls way too fast for me to capture even on video. Please let me
know if I can provide any further information.

[Bug 1247437] [NEW] package ubuntuone-control-panel-qt 13.09-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should reinstall it before attempting a removal.

2013-11-02 Thread sztomi
Public bug reported:

I had a file system corruption during the upgrade (13.04-13.10), and
the file system went into readonly mode, so it couldn't finish. I
rebooted and tried running dpkg --configure -a, which did work for a
long time and then there was this one package broken. It suggested I
reinstall it, so I ran apt-get install this-package and it really took
all the performance of the computer. I REISUB-d and tried again. I went
to take care of IRL stuff, and when I got home it was frozen. REISUB
worked. The booting with the 3.11 kernel didn't, I think it was a
graphics drive issue (it did get to the login screen but completely
froze after that, even REISUB wouldn't work, only a hard reset. I'm
running the 3.8 kernel now and it booted up, but the there were lots of
system problem messages.

[Bug 773582] Re: Windows blank to white after being resized larger

2012-10-30 Thread sztomi
This happens to me on 12.10. And also blank windows - not just visually
blank, you can actually see through them, i.e. if you move them, the
image you see is not frozen, also you can click through.

[Bug 1065720] Re: Default behavior of Ubuntu's primary interface is to try to sell me things

2012-10-11 Thread sztomi
I don't think this is the place to discuss whether or not shopping-lens
are a good idea. However, the Dash should be way smarter than this. If I
type packages, at least show me the package manager (possibly as the
first match).

[Bug 128651] Re: gtk-window-decorator crashed with SIGSEGV

2008-01-20 Thread sztomi
This bug appears several times on my system.
I've found a way to reproduce it.
I download a pdf in firefox with pdf download extension. The pdf opens, and
then the window captions are gone. compiz still running.
Now, I switch compiz out, and they are back. Switch compiz on, everything is
fine. Now, the downloads window of firefox is a few pixels size (well, possibly
zero, the thing that I see is the decoration).
Clicking its button a few times on the panel crashes gtk-window-decorator.
Again and again.
If I resize this window, before the crash happens (I just don't click on it's
button that much), I see an empty window. I can close it without problem.

Nexus theme.
