No Banshee is not muted. Volume is at max in Banshee and system volume.
And yes Banshee is present in the Applications tab of Sound
preferences

Whatever I do the restore option is dimmed in pgadmin3. The backup
option is working fine. All binaries are in /usr/bin directory. By all
binaries I mean pgadmin3, pg_dump, pg_dumpall and pg_restore.

Java applets in Firefox 3.0.8 doesn't work in Jaunty
I had the same problem with my Acer Aspire 5630
After doing
sudo rmmod acer-wmi
I realized the problem was gone. So I blacklisted this module.
In file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf add the following line.
blacklist acer-wmi

I worked around the bug by doing the following:

rebooted then

I used to have a 2.6.28 kernel (custom compiled) on Intrepid, and this
problem only showed up with the new 2.6.28-11 that came from Jaunty
upgrade.

sudo update-alternatives --config javaws
Then I chose this option:
