[Hardy Alpha 6] - Restricted (Hardware) Driver stopped working
Public bug reported:
In 2.6.24 I get no wireless connections even though the module Iwl4695
is loaded. Network manager applet shows only wired connection and trying
to open manual settings fails.
Maybe related is that in 2.6.22-14 I get no sound but wireless works as
long as no pass. In 2.6.24
sound is Realtek ALC262 and does not work when wireless is working.
Could be a coincidence.

Everything seems to be working. I don't have time to reproduce this
bug, but after upgrade I did not change anything but re-enabled usb

I managed to boot and have feisty working and upgraded, though I had to turn

One minor problem is that I am not using my usb mouse and keyboard. So it seems
wireless device on the mobo is the culprit
The trouble is specific with these type HP machines and sata. Not using
the sata cotroller and using an ide drive works for me.

I reinstalled, this time with a current daily edgy bui;d and also by
creating a 100M /boot partition. This seems to have solved my boot
errors. I am not sure if this or an updated edgy install fixed things.
So far so good.

i must also add that HP is preparing a bios upgrade for these type of

anything, but the errors I am getting are similar to when a turbo boot
speed is initiated perhaps and thus perhaps causing some errors.
