KMix uses too much memory on Ubuntu 10.10 x86_64. Over the course of
hours or days, KMix will gradually use up more and more memory, quickly
getting to hundreds of megabytes. I killed it once at over a gigabyte.

I have a very similar problem on an HP g62 with 10.04 x86_64. Same
Radeon HD 4200 sound device too. It appears that Intel's HDA driver gets
loaded for it.

use Kubuntu. I could not test the Kubuntu Alpha2 ISO, it crashed right

I have this problem, too, in the release version of jaunty. It's most
problematic on the manual partition setup step if there are more than a
few partitions, such as when creating separate partitions for /, /home,
