I have done clean install of Gutsy today and touchpad was detected properly and appropriate section in xorg.conf was added automatically. I can confirm this bug on Prestigio 156 laptop. xorg.conf doesn't contain any pointer section for Synaptics touchpad, I must add it manually. After that, it works fine.
