[Bug 1630860] [NEW] [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] Playback problem
Public bug reported: Lenovo Thinkpad P50 with docking station Issues: Headphone jack on station not detected; no sound (works without docking station) Issues: Sound via HDMI on station not detected; no sound (works without docking station) Since all outputs are routed via the Thunderbolt chip, my guess is that it's related to the pin setup (lenovo-dock) in Alsa. Without the dock, everything works, headphone/mic jack on the P50 itself is hotplug (switches from speaker to headphones right away). Screenshots (with and without docking station) attached. [Bug 196220] Re: [Hardy] system freezes after start with Intel driver (Intel G35)
Ok; I have a workaround which fixed it for me: take the 2.3.2 version (32 or 64 bit) from Debian Lenny, which doesn't depend on the latest xorg core. You can download them from: http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/xserver-xorg-video-intel/download (32 bit), or from http://packages.debian.org/lenny/amd64/xserver-xorg-video-intel/download (64 bit). That solved it for us for the moment. In fact I only discovered the bug after installing Ubuntu, with my wife's Lenny, the hardware just worked fine. [Bug 196220] Re: [Hardy] system freezes after start with Intel driver (Intel G35)
I have built several machines with Asus P5E-V HDMI mainboards (G35 chip set), and I can confirm that the xserver-xorg-video-intel in version 2.2.1 still locks the systems randomly. Other people confirm this as well in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=647449&page=12 ff. Version 2.3.2 from Intrepid (Debian Lenny has it as well) works fine, so could you please provide that updated Intel driver for Hardy? I've tried it myself, but due to dependency issues I never got the Intrepid driver working in Hardy, even after additionally installing/changing to the newer xserver-xorg-core, and libgl1-mesa-dri (still had no kbd and mouse after that). [Bug 201257] Re: i965 TVout quirk needed [1043,8265]
A workaround which worked for us at ZaReason is: In xorg.conf, In section "Section "Device"" add the line: Option "monitor-TV" "TV" Also, add the following new section: Section "Monitor" Identifier "TV" Option "Ignore" "True" EndSection Strange that this is also necessary on Notebooks which actually *don't have* a TV-Out... cheers, wjl -- i965 TVout quirk needed [1043,8265] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201257 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm this with Hardy 8,04 beta and all updates until yesterday. Laptop is the same (Asus resp. Asmobile S37E with Intel Santa Rosa chip set). cheers, Wolfgang http://wolfgang.lonien.de/ http://blog.thedebianuser.org/ http://www.zareason.de/ (we offer these notebooks with Ubuntu preinstalled, so it's really important for us to get this solved) -- [Hardy] i965 TVout Interference: Gnome panel smaller than detected resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201257 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
