[Bug 1932328] [NEW] Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows

2021-06-17 Thread yrogge
Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute) that starts in Wayland, by default.
Thunderbird version: 78.11.0 with "gnome-support" package.
Same problem in safe mode.
Description:
By default in this context, TB is a Wayland task.
When opening a compose windows (or reply or transfer), sending mail apparently
close the windows, but gnome shell continue to show multiple "points", as if
multiple windows are still active.
And after closing TB, it seems maintained in the same state, so it becomes
impossible to relaunch it from the desk. But task manager of "looking glass" do
not show it and it is possible to launch from terminal.
Provisional solution:
Modify .desktop file to launch with --display=:0 option, that force to use
XWayland interface, as shown by xlsclients (for example).
But it is actually a bug under Wayland context, that also badly interfer with
many add-ons or extensions.

** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1926362] Re: maxima fails at launch at command line with said error message

2021-05-10 Thread yrogge
It not linked to wxmaxima, but due to maxima itself.
If you launch maxima from terminal, you will have exactly the same error
message.

Thank you Olivier.
Remark #8 seems to be OK.
Hope this correction in next update.

[Bug 1738821] Re: Appstream data points to libreoffice-common

2018-04-09 Thread yrogge
If you look at libreoffice-common_6.0.3-1_all.deb from packages.debian.org, it
contains /usr/share/applications/libreofice-startcenter.desktop.
Why is the version on launchpad different ?

[Bug 1738821] Re: Appstream data points to libreoffice-common

2018-04-07 Thread yrogge
I do totally agree with Tim comment.
The startdesktop is an essential feature of libreoffice suite. For example, it
is the best user-friendly interface to choose a template or to open a recent
document, using the big preview window.
If it is placed in libreoffice-common or libeoffice meta package is not
relevant; it needs to be somewhere.
It was previously in libreoffice-common as does xsltfilter. I don't understand
what has changed to justify such discussion.
