[Bug 577563] Re: Automatic login fails and computer hangs (Lucid)

2010-07-07 Thread zohar
I have this too.

Happens when gdm's autologon or timedlogon is true.

What happens is when system is booting gdm is auto/timed loging the user
in and the could not update ICEauthority file error appears, if OK is
clicked I get another message (usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2
has quit with state 256) and then just an empty wallaper.

To get in to the system I move to a free text tty and run sudo
/etc/init.d/gdm restart. When gdm restarts everything is ok.

[Bug 577563] Re: Automatic login fails and computer hangs (Lucid)

2010-07-07 Thread zohar
Some forum told me to chown username:username the ICEauthority file and
give it 644 permissions.
Did nothing for me.

[Bug 430374] Re: init: mountall main process terminated with status 1

2009-11-17 Thread zohar
Sorry for the bump (I did waited for 2 weeks) but can anyone respond?
Re-updated all (today - 17.11.2009) and still can't boot 9.10 on xen.

[Bug 430374] Re: init: mountall main process terminated with status 1

2009-11-03 Thread zohar
Still on the original bug (*), still referring to my 9.10 as xen guest
on 8.04.3 (all 32bit/i386)

After full-upgrade of both host and guest (guest via xen-update-image.
similar to chrooting and upgrading) problem still exist.

I see people referring here to upgrading/downgrading to version
0.1.4/0.1.5/0.1.8 but I don't understand, upgrading what?
My mountall is at version 1.0, should I downgrade it or something else?

In any case, some instructions/hints would be helpful.

(*)
I refer to the original bug as described at the top of the page by Serkan not
to the other problems described later. People, open your own bugs.

[Bug 430374] Re: init: mountall main process terminated with status 1

2009-10-21 Thread zohar
I also have this problem.

My install was as a VM on a XEN server (running on ubuntu server 8.04).

The installation was by debootstrap.

I had to link gutsy's scripts to karmic to make it work at all but I
don't believe this is the cause because all ubuntu dist's are linked to
gutsy.

Since the status of this bug is Fix Released I tried stopping the VM
and updating the image by xen-update-image but no updates were available
and problem remaines.

All (host and guest) running 32bit versions.

[Bug 304044] Re: arrow keys in raw mode stopped working in Intrepid

2009-05-27 Thread zohar
@Mike,
Did you compile with the above mentioned ./configure --prefix=/usr or just
./configure?

[Bug 304044] Re: arrow keys in raw mode stopped working in Intrepid

2009-01-14 Thread zohar
Hi,

Had the exact same issue, was resolved by recompiling with ./configure
--prefix=/usr.
Note that by default prefix is /usr/local, which cause resktop to search for
its keymaps in
  /usr/local/share/rdesktop/keymaps instead of /usr/share/rdesktop/keymaps.

Hope this helps.
Zohar.

Using asus a8sc, with kernel 2.6.27-7-generic.
Coming back from suspend, not even Magic Sysrq combinations work... I had it
working well on Hardy.

[Bug 279156] Re: Intrepid: Suspend not working on Asus A6Km

2008-11-11 Thread Zohar
I have the same exact issue with Asus A8sc.
On top of that, when an external monitor is attached at boot time, the computer
freezes. I wouldn't mention that here normally, as it seems as another issue,
but it makes me think it's part of the same problem - maybe something with X
not functioning well.

another testimonial:
a8sc, ubuntu intrepid.
suspend and hibernate do not resume. It worked well with kubuntu 8.04.
Let me know if I should leave any more details here.

thanks

[Bug 210204] Re: Hebrew .doc files show hindu numerals instad of arabic

2008-04-01 Thread zohar
I also agree.

This OOo bug definitely means no Hebrew speaker can use this (2.4)
version.

Since Word Processing is such a major use of PC's, if this OOo version
will be the one installed by default it will mean that Hebrew speakers
will get an ubuntu system which is useless from the box.
