I've installed the 3.18 kernel (on Ubuntu-Gnome 14.10) and indeed the problem went away, for the most part... I am also having this problem with this model. In addition, right click does not work, even from boot up. Also, I am unable to move the cursor while the left click is pressed. These issues mean I am unable to drag icons, unable to resize windows, and unable to suspend my computer.
