[Bug 1424451] Re: Brightness setting unaffective when scanning with MFP M177fw
I have a HP Laserjet M1522nf and working with Kubuntu 18.04.2 I have exactly the same problems. A few days before I used a Tuxedo Linux and scanning was perfect. The problems began after using the original Kubuntu distribution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1424451 Title: Brightness setting unaffective when scanning with MFP M177fw To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1424451/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Zoltan, we will leave this bug report at "incomplete" status in case someone else might have the same problem in the next little while. If not, it will be expired automatically. [Bug 1424451] Re: Brightness setting unaffective when scanning with MFP M177fw
Hello, Currently I'm using Debian 9.5 and hplip 3.6.11. And although I've done only a light check from simple-scan (tried different brightness settings in gray mode), the behaviour looks the same, no difference in the output, so the bug still exists. But as I don't use the scanner too often, and not for professional purposes, it's ok for me, if the bug is left unfixed. I use a small script to apply a -0.3 gamma correction on the images after scanning, and that gives me just good enough result for my purposes. xsane's auto gamma correction also works fine. [Bug 1424451] Re: Brightness setting unaffective when scanning with MFP M177fw
Hello Zoltan, Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with hplip. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu and hplip have been updated since then. Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket? If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug? If you are, could you let us know and, in the current version, could you run the following (only once): apport-collect 1424451 and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and hplip better.
