I've also forwarded this to the Debian maintainer, see the attached bug
watch.
If jacksum 1.7.0-2 on Ubuntu 14.04 it is likely the issue was introduced
since then, which should help pin-point exactly what is causing it.
Since the version in 14.04
The 14.04 version of jacksum is working without any issues.
