[Bug 1867882] Re: After upgrade to the latest kernel, fan gets very loud and always on whenever on AC power
Please remove all kernel parameters, and see if `sudo powertop --auto- tune` helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867882 Title: After upgrade to the latest kernel, fan gets very loud and always on whenever on AC power To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1867882/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1867882] Re: After upgrade to the latest kernel, fan gets very loud and always on whenever on AC power
@Kai-Heng Feng (kaihengfeng) I needed "intel_pstate=disable" for frequency scaling, anyway I tried remove it as you suggest and now it's been 10-15 minutes my fan is at full-speed non stop and I can't control the frequency now. It's way worse than before, I can hear the fan out loud and there's a hot air coming out. I'm gonna put "intel_pstate=disable" back. If you have other advice, I'm open to try.
"intel_pstate=disable" doesn't seem good. Please remove all unnecessary kernel parameter first. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867882 Title: After upgrade to the latest kernel, fan gets very loud and always on whenever on AC power To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1867882/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
