[Bug 224065] Re: screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed
Maybe it has something to do with my problem. I have had the same problem with the screensaver attached. I tried to switch down computer by pressing Switch Off button, and it worked (it shut down properly), so it's not a hard lockup. Anyways, I could not use X.org anymore. I'm using a MSI 1217 laptop (Intel 965 Mobile Graphics), 1GiB RAM and so on. 32 bit version of Ubuntu. I attach a photo taken of the computer when it stopped. ** Attachment added: A photo of the frozen laptop. http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14473409/DSCN1361.JPG -- screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 224065] Re: screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed
Confirmed -- this was a problem in Ubuntu 7.10 and still is a problem in 8.04. When Flurry hangs, the machine becomes unusable. If you then ssh into the machine you will find TWO flurry processes spinning at 100% CPU. Killing them both makes the machine usable again (able to unlock the screen). -- screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 224065] Re: screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed
I notice that it'll happen when the screensaver has already freezed (after some time passed). If It has just switch to screensaver-mode , it works as usual. -- screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

With ubuntu 8.04 fresh install, I tried to preview every screensaver one by one and my computer was freezed too (at least three times). -- screensaver(Flurry) freeze or lockup after some time passed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
