*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 290509 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290509 I am getting a error upon first boot of newly install 8.1.0 server. the panel encountered a problem while loading OAF11D:gnome_fast user swither applet. I am not using KDM so I do not see it as a duplicate of 290509. I only get this error loading on a multiple drive format. I can load to one drive and launch Ubuntu with no error. When I load to mirror or raid 5 I see this error. This error has appeared on a fresh NOS load on two distinctly different machines. I have tried all fixes I can find on the internet and I am still at a loss. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. As you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Once you have done this, repeat the steps necessary to recreate the crash. If you don't see a crash notification and you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks for the quick reply. I set enabled=1 in /etc/default/apport , restarted the machine, logged in and tried to add this panel app again. Nothing gets written to ~/.xsession-errors when this occurs. (I watched it with tail -f ) When i tried it with another user account, i got a dialog box with this error the first time: --- The panel encountered a problem while loading OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet.
