[Bug 550479] Re: fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop
I have this problem as well with Lucid 10.04 final x86-64 on my T400 with intel graphics or with ATI discrete graphics selected in the bios. pm suspend or hibernate from command line or gui leaves the moon led on the laptop blinking after upgrading all packages. Symptoms: Moon led is left blink as system hangs. Requires holding down power button to do a hard poweroff. Thinklight is still able to be turned on or off and controls to change. Often, backlighting are still active and controllable with the thinkpad keys. Trials with out success: - Tried 2010-05-26 mainline kernel - I tried the lp_patch version prepared for the X201 problem with suspend. - tried adding command line approach on the acpi_sleep=sci_force_enable with the above kernels. - tried disabling one cpu before suspending -- fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550479 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 550479] Re: fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop
So since Vadim tested one of the upstream kernels Jeremy's request should've been fullfilled and the report shouldn't be incomplete any more - thus I'm removing the flag. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550479 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 550479] Re: fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop
I have this problem on my Thinkpad T42. Same symptoms as #1: on suspend, the screen goes black and I get a flashing moon, but it keeps flashing, and the fan keeps running. Also like #1, on next powerup, network manager has network disabled, though it comes up normally if I enable networking from the icon. Like #3, this is sporadic. It may not happen for a half dozen boots, and then starts. Suspend certainly worked in Karmic and Jaunty. I tried updating the BIOS to the lenovo latest for T42, but there's no (discernable) change in behavior. I just tried the upstream kernel: linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201005201005_i386.deb It boots, but on suspend the moon flashes a few times, then there's a second beep, the fan speeds up, and the screen stays dark. At this point, Alt-SysRq-B was required to reboot the system. ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing -- fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550479 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 550479] Re: fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop
On boot, the upstream kernel gave about a half dozen warnings. Something about Error IOAPIC and a set of numbers (IRQ's?) It continued booting and everything seemed to come up normally, except, of course, suspend. -- fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550479 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 550479] Re: fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop
I have this problem as well on Lenovo T400. The suspend-freeze does not happen every time but somewhere in the region of 30%-50% of the cases. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way in tracking this bug down. -- fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550479 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 550479] Re: fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop
Hi Alex, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: kernel-suspend ** Tags added: kj-triage ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- fails to suspend on Lenovo t400 laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550479 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
