I just started having the same problem too. Specifying a base-dir, or
installing sqlite does not solve it. Old versions of the database work
fine. The latest version is giving this infinite loop. For some reason,
on my laptop, it was not offering me to use dbus-launch f-spot but on
my desktop,
I had a similar problem - the error message actually said that the file
was encrypted or not a valid database before it went into the infinite
loop.
Removing the .db file fixed the problem, but I needed the data in it, so
I restored the db file and tried installing sqlite (which also

Hi there. As with the bug posted, I get the same error message that goes
on an infinite loop. I don't know if this output provides more info on
what causes the crash:

Does de solution mentioned in bug #81905 work?
And the -b/--basedir option?
I think this bug is a duplicate of bug #81905 , but is the table tags
missing in this bug?

@Gerard
I'm afraid you're having a different issue then i was, and it doesn't
seem related to the missing tags table as the other bug mentioned, you
could try renaming the database file to see if f-spot can make a new
file, if that works, you might have to dump your old table to text

Hi. Thanks all for replying. I managed to resolve the issue by deleting
the F-Spot file in the hidden program directory in my home folder.
Finally, it's working flawlessly--and now I'm torn between F-Spot and
Google Picasa. Hope others having an issue have resolved theirs.

Fixed it here by installing sqlite, on which f-spot seems to rely on my
end. Should this be a dependency?

I've got the same bug on Feisty Fawn 7.04 testing (Linux 2.6.20-14-generic #2
SMP). F-Spot Version 0.3.5.0
The application doesn't crash. It seems to go into a infinite loop. Then the

Thank you for your bug report.
But unfortunately, the information you gave us isn't enough. Would you add more
information?
Maybe this link can help you: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures And
what is the version of the Ubuntu you're using? And is your system up to date?
** Changed
The machine is running Feisty Fawn beta, and is up to date.
The f-spot database comes from a previous edgy install (/ and /home are 2
seperate partitions).
I'm not sure how i can provide you with more info, since the application
doesn't crash (so no coredump), it just can't connect to d-bus

The same problem here, on Feisty Fawn Beta fresh install. I see the same

in the original post when i run it in the terminal.
