In the GH issue https://github.com/FreeRDP/Remmina/issues/69 the
authors of Remmina claim this bug has been fixed in Remmina version 1.x
(released in February 2014).
As a workaround, one can use the official PPA ppa:remmina-ppa-team
/remmina-next as described in their Wiki:

Leonardo Corato, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
with the latest version of remmina in Precise, or a later version of

when remmina starts an rdp connection, the screen inside the window is
moved up
A quick fix is to use a newer build, I used the PPA from here:
https://launchpad.net/~remmina/+archive/ubuntu/testing
Or just do:
apt-add-repository ppa:remmina/testing
apt-get update
apt-get install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp remmina-plugin-vnc
