I've provided info on the package versions and I can still reproduce the
bug, why did it expire? Have I forgotten to unmark it incomplete?

Thanks Sergey, it expires automatically after 60 days is it's marked as
incomplete. Can you provide exact steps to reproduce it in a simple
testcase?

On my system the error is triggered by Transmission's BitTorrent seeding
activity or relocating already downloaded data.
Idle requests to /etc/hosts and ~/.config/transmission/resume/* do not trigger
the bug.
I'm not aware of any applications other than Transmission that trigger this bug.
--
The ways to reproduce it I've found so far are:
1) Download a torrent contents in Transmission. The bug is probably observable
during downloading.
OR
2) Relocate data to another partition by right-clicking on the torrent in
Transmission main window and selecting the new location. The bug is
[Expired for fatrace (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]

Yes, I'm still seeing it on fatrace 0.4-0ubuntu1 and transmission-gtk
2.51-0ubuntu1.1 (latest in Ubuntu Precise).

I've tried running fatrace in gdb to obtain a backtrace but turns out it
doesn't have a debug symbols package, so all I get is lines full of
question marks.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that your report remained quite some time
unanswered.
I tried to reproduce the issue and I couldn't. Are you still seeing it
with an updated Ubuntu system?
