I think this is a duplicate of bug #102514, which, in turn, is probably
incorrectly marked as a dupe of another bug.

2007-04-05 Thread Brian Murray
I was trying to get a hold of the error messages surrounding the kernel
OOPS you mention in your first comment. Could you look through your
/var/log/syslog files and attach the file containing that error message.
Reading your initial comment again I am under the impression you are
unable to mount the drive now, is that correct?

[Bug 102066] Re: Unable to release USB drive from Gnome in some cases

2007-04-05 Thread AndyT
The bug being reported is about not being able to 'eject' the USB hard
drive from the File Browser. I included the mount error messages incase
they were helpful. For now I'm not trying to force an umount on the
drive. I've attached the syslog showing the mount of BIG4CGB, the
umount of the USB flash drive CORSAIR and the subsequent hang when
umounting BIG4CGB. The 'READ CAPACITY failed.' and associated log
messages repeat in the syslog until I terminate the system.

Messages from today's syslog when I tried to 'eject' the BIG4CGB drive.

[Bug 102066] Re: Unable to release USB drive from Gnome in some cases

2007-04-04 Thread Brian Murray
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet
have enough information.
Please include the following additional information, if you have not already
done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by
the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response.
It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version
you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command 'dmesg dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file
'dmesg.log' to this bug report.
3. Please run the command 'sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the
resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report.
For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug
reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks
in advance!
