Public bug reported:

A bug that affects to all vostro 1320s is that the ubuntu detects whatever 
position the wifi switch is in as "off" went you log in.
 i.e. if the switch is "on" when you log in the wifi wont work as the switch 
controls the wifi  hardware directly as well.

The problem can be fixed with a bios update but this requires you to install 
windows(not in a virtual machine) before it will launch.
Is it possible to fix this in ubuntu?

P.S i have fixed this with a bios update this report is simply to raise
awareness.
