The AMD64 microcode updates do not depend at all on any kernel 3.4 patches. Don't mix issues, please. Anyway, I am a Debian Developer, so the Precise backport will have to be handled by an Ubuntu developer. I second that, it will need the updated kernel 3.4 patch as well.
