[Bug 1046543] Re: Touchpad stopped working EV=b in devices
Zaur Molotnikov, as per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update is available for your BIOS (1.08). If you update to this, does it change anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-v1.08 needs-upstream-testing regression- potential ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046543 Title: Touchpad stopped working EV=b in devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1046543/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1046543] Re: Touchpad stopped working EV=b in devices
Zaur: Does the touchpad not work at all, or is only edge scrolling broken? I'm trying to clarify whether this is likely to be a duplicate of other bugs we have reporting that edge scrolling is broken, or if it's something different. I don't think EV=b is a problem. This mean EV_SYN, EV_KEY, and EV_ABS are set, which looks correct and matches what I see with working synaptics touchpads I have here. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046543 Title: Touchpad stopped working EV=b in devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1046543/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1046543] Re: Touchpad stopped working EV=b in devices
Zaur, is the touchpad functionality entirely broken (not working at all) or is it just the vertical scrolling that has problems? If so, you can try what Anca describes here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1046512/comments/4 That worked for me, at least. [Bug 1046543] Re: Touchpad stopped working EV=b in devices
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.6 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream-testing' tag. Please only remove that one tag and leave the other tags. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance.
