Add Notification Area to Gnome shell top panel by default
To manage
gnome-classic should have a notification area I believe. Is that not the case?
Or are you talking about Gnome-shell, which uses the message tray instead, so
it doesnt have any notifications in the top panel. There may be extensions to
implement this however.
