Same Problem here. It´s an regression after updating from
3.2.0-33-generic to 3.2.0-34-generic!
Workaround:
start old 3.2.0-33-generic in grub bootloader manually and everything
works fine
or
prepare the bootmenu (for example with grub customizer) and set the
3.2.0-33-generic as default
