Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 12.10 libwebp-dev package libwebp.pc file is not included. This file is used to determine the include files and libraries required to use by applications that plan to use libwebp. As it is not included it is not possible for other applications to determine the presence of libwebp in the system and makes it unusable. Each dev package must have a .pc file so that application that rely on them will detect them automatically while configuring - this defeats the very purpose of having the libwebp-dev package.
The same is true for Ubuntu 11.10's libwebp-dev package. I have not checked the Ubuntu 12.04's libwebp-dev package. ** Affects: libwebp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1108731 Title: libwebp.pc is not included in libwebp-dev package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libwebp/+bug/1108731/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
