Further to my above, I had to re-install Kubuntu 7.04 (AMD64) on my system (because of a hard drive problem) & even after updates again had no .WMF file conversion? However, after about a week the conversion choice appeared in the right click menu! So I'm not sure if this is in fact a bug at all unless you count the first week after install. This bug was fixed in the last set of updates. Didn't take too much notice of what the updates were but I just retried some WMF files & the option to convert was available again & they converted successfully.
