There is an old bug in the apt-src package that was never fixed in the upstream and is terribly annoying when doing apt-src --location install <package> It is the bug #290443 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=290443). A patch is given on that page. However, the upstream maintainer never integrated it, although the patch is from 2007... So, please patch the Ubuntu (Saucy) version.
