[Bug 1217196] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 keyboard shortcuts not working

2013-09-16 Thread Jean-Baptiste Camps
I encounter a similar problem since I updated my computer (under Gnome)

- fn keys stopped working

as well as some shortcuts :
- alt + tab
- super + E (user defined)
- ctrl + alt + l

On the other hand, ctrl + alt + t is working.

[Bug 1217196] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 keyboard shortcuts not working

2013-09-16 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Pawel, I'm closing this bug since it sounds like you no longer can
reproduce this bug with the Ubuntu 13.10 packages. Keyboard shortcuts
work fine for me here too.

Jean-Baptiste, please open a different bug for your issue by running
ubuntu-bug gnome-shell

[Bug 1217196] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 keyboard shortcuts not working

2013-09-04 Thread Paweł Szafer
Hello,
Unfortunately mainline kernel does not fix this bug.
It looks like any shortcut with combined keys doesn't work.

That are keyboard shortcuts working:
- CTRL+ATL+F1/F2/F3/F4/F5/F6/F7/F8/F9/F10/F11/F12
- ALT + ` to switch between windows of the same application,
- ATL + TAB,
- left CTRL + ALT + TAB,
- alt + F1/F2/F3/F4/F5/F6/F7/F8,
- CTRL + F4/F5,
- CTRL+ALT+D,
- CTRL+C/V/X

So for me it seems there are 2 different bugs:
- special fn keys not working in my laptop,
- and shortcuts with three key combination not working (especially with one of
alphanumeric keys for example CTRL+ALT+T)

I've tried shortcuts in Unity with new kernel and shortcuts in Unity
environment are working well.
So I am changing problem to gnome-shell related

[Bug 1217196] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 keyboard shortcuts not working

2013-09-03 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.11 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
Confirmed.

Thanks in advance.

apport information

** Description changed:

  Hello,

I'm using/testing Ubuntu 13.10 with newest kernel 3.11.0-4 from PPA with
Gnome 3.9.90.
  This started since kernel 3.10.

Shortcuts to run commands and custom commands not working in this
configuration (for example CTRL+ALT+T not launching gnome-terminal).

I have laptop Asus N56VZ and FN Keys also stopped working (brightness,
toggle wifi, brightness of keyboards, volume).

Since I cannot find suspend button in Gnome 3.9 I've started to use power
button to suspend my PC. It's not working anymore.
Only way to suspend is to type command 'sudo pm-suspend' in terminal.

[Bug 1217196] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 keyboard shortcuts not working

2013-08-27 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1217196/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
