Fix doesn't fix anything. If app was started with russian layout -
hotkeys doesn't work, even change layout to english. I use 14.04 with
newest updates, and problem still exist now (2014/07/28). Only solution
for now is to start all apps with english layout or keep different
layouts for every app

dosen't work in console (ctrl+alt+F1-F7)

without disabling standard gnome switcher. So, gnome switcher switches

I think that we have here a derious regression no matter what we choose
to do, because non-latin hotkeys were usable in previous versions of
Gnome. But I also think that users of apps like Eclipse and JetBrains
are programmers who rarely have to use non-latin languages, while users
of LibreOffice
Artur, I have the same bug with this ppa - in JetBrains phpStorm hotkeys
now work only in non-latin keyboard layout. I installed ppa on clean

It is really 100% reproduceable.
I have tried to remove ppa with ppa-purge utility, and hotkeys starts work in
latin layout, but stops in non-latin (RU) layout.
Then I hev tried to add ppa again, and situation became inverted: latin layout
- no hotkeys, ru layout - working hotkeys.

William, I have a few thoughts on the impossibility of keyboard input. I
remembered that after upgrading to 13.10 this bug was fixed by removing
or restart ibus. But in 14.04 removing ibus will remove many other

Now when using Dvorak and Russian layouts hotkeys are on one physical
key when in English-Dvorak layout, and on other key when in Russian
(they are placed to position where corresponding latin key
Please also take a look at a very similar bug report 1280759. It is not
fixed yet.

Thanks a lot to Michael Zheludkov for the fix, but I want Intellij Idea
hotkeys to work out of the box without any workarounds. Just as they
worked before. When will this be possible in ubuntu?
