It seems there is some kind of memory leak still. So I killed process
unity-panel-service yesterday. Today morning I started to use my system
again, I quite heavily use workspace switching all the time. Currently
unity-panel-service is again at the top by memory usage though not so
high as yesterday:

20089 lgb       20   0  386m 176m 5260 S   3.0  9.2  17:17.86 unity-
panel-ser

Now I've just killed it again. After it is reloaded, the situation
reported by top:

 3223 lgb       20   0  193m  14m  10m S   0.0  0.8   0:00.28 unity-
panel-ser
