You'd want to perform this substitution on the value of orig_message in
the Base._publish method in friends/utils/base.py. Replace the newlines
with br tags at the last possible second before submitting the message
into the dee model.

It just occurred to me that an easier fix for this would be to s/\n/br
// on the friends side.
