@Po-Hsu Lin: if outputs show up even when they are not connected, I'd say it could be a bug, but not a serious one. - Line out jacks do not have jack detection in 12.04, because it is not enabled in PulseAudio. Hey David, I'm curious about output devices, I saw some of them (desktop systems) still have a output device available, even the speaker/headphones is not connected. Should they behave like input devices in your comment #5?
