I am going to go ahead and close this report then as a couple of us on IRC were unable to confirm this. I am wondering if it may have something to due with print drivers possibly. I measured 1 inch on my screen and then measured 1 inch on the print out and the same amount of characters were presen

Use the word-processor you like, open a new file, set the page-size to the one which matches with the sheets stashed in your printer, take one leaf out and hold this real piece of paper (which is 21 cm wide in case of DIN A4) at the one displayed on the screen. Both must be congruent. My labtop's
