[Bug 1286686] Re: lxsession-default missing lock handler

2014-11-06 Thread Walter Lapchynski
Confirmed for trusty through vivid. There was a similar problem with
lxsession where `lxsession-default terminal` wasn't being properly
called, so this should be a relatively easy fix.

Moved to medium due there being a bit of a workaround and the fact that
lxsession is not core to Ubuntu itself.

** Tags added: vivid

** Changed in: lxsession (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed = Triaged

** Changed in: lxsession (Ubuntu)
   Importance: High = Medium

** Description changed:

- according to lubuntu-rc.xml:
+ STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
+ Run `lxsession-default lock` OR use the Ctrl-Alt-L shortcut.

- !-- Lock the screen on Ctrl + Alt + l--
- keybind key=C-A-l
- action name=Execute
- commandlxsession-default lock/command
- /action
- /keybind
+ EXPECTED RESULTS:
+ The screen locks.

- so the expected result would be a locked screen after I hit Ctrl + Alt +
- l on the keyboard. it's not working though.
+ ACTUAL RESULTS:
+ The screen does not lock. In terminal, it feeds back that the screen is being
locked, but nothing happens.

- lock screen using GUI is working from Menulogoutlock screen.
+ AFFECTED VERSIONS:
+ trusty to vivid

- best regards,
- ibere
+ MORE INFO:
+ lubuntu-rc.xml calls `lxsession-default lock` with Ctrl-Alt-L. This should
call `lxlock` as defined in its desktop.conf.

- ProblemType: Bug
- DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04
- Package: lxsession 0.4.9.2+git20140216-0ubuntu1
- ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-14.34-generic 3.13.5
- Uname: Linux 3.13.0-14-generic i686
- ApportVersion: 2.13.2-0ubuntu5
- Architecture: i386
- CurrentDesktop: LXDE
- Date: Sun Mar 2 00:41:28 2014
- InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-03-01 (0 days ago)
- InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr - Alpha i386 (20140225)
- SourcePackage: lxsession
- UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
+ WORKAROUND:
+ At least for using the shortcut, `lxsession-default lock` can be replaced
with `lxlock`. However, anything calling `lxsession-default lock` will still
fail.
