Have the same issue but only started recently, possibly after upgrading Ubuntu to 14.04. Happens every time when trying to using the short keys for changing viewport (ie Ctrl-Alt-ArrowKeys). However changing viewport using the expo key or mouse (shows HUD with all viewports), it switches
