In windows the jack is detected, so yes, it is supported. I don't have anything at line in. The rear out is connected to speakers, but the rear in is empty. I don't understand your point. Anyway in sound settings dialog ALL inputs are ALWAYS marked as unplugged regardless of what is connected to
