Try disabling the Enhanced Desktop Zoom and see if that corrects the

I fixed this by turning off all the compiz plugins and turning on only
the features I required one at a time to test which one was blocking
ctrlshift+left|right. I haven't identified which blocked the
ctrlshift but it seems to work again now.
