Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810
In the man page it says that there is a option "FlipPrimary", which seems to be useful when using a dual-head configuration. However, when i actually use that option in the xorg.conf the log will tell me that this option is ignored. I then looked at the source code, and there is in fact no such option. Instead there is the option "FixedPipe". This option seems to actually exists because the logs do NOT give the message that the option is ignored (but this option is not mentioned in the man page). So i guess the man page is simply wrong, the description of FlipPrimary should be removed and a description of "FixedPipe" should be inserted. Note that these two options seem to have different functions. In any case the documentation of the whole "Pipe" thing is very bad and should be improved so that even "normal" people can understand what it is about. I'm running kubuntu 7.04 on a hp nx 5000 laptop. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-i810 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- man page wrong/ driver options confusing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132082 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
