Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ksubtitleripper

The second step in using KSubtitleRipper is running optical character
recognition on the subtitle images. It offers a UI for manually
inputting characters that gocr failed to recognize, and in fact the
process cannot proceed until the user complete this task.
Unfortunately, the UI for correcting gocr was disabled and impossible to
use. The problem was first noticed in the Ubuntu forums, here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=502143

I have created a patch that fixes the problem. I've submitted it to the
original project's page. It's available here:

http://developer.berlios.de/patch/?func=detailpatch&patch_id=2137&group_id=1613

The patch assumes that you've already applied the gocr patch (see bug
#132107).

It looks to me as though the original project hasn't been modified since
20 May 2005. I suspect that it is unmaintained. But could we try and
send this upstream anyway, at least as far as the maintainer for the
debian package of ksubtitleripper? As it stands, the program is
unusable.
